Sun Sweet Sun – AI Short Story

This is a story I had in my mind many years ago. A small cactus sitting on the windowsill on a winter day but missing the sun.

Initially I wanted to make it in 3D using Blender, but between work and being just me, I never had the time. So AI came along, and I was waiting till it was a decent way to make a short film. Google Flow came along, and with it a great tool call “Storyboard Tool” that allowed me to work on my story from script to video generation.

This is an experiment, so I generated all the shots using the free version; that means waiting until the next day to have more credits. Also, I used cinematic language to indicate the camera movement and type of shot I wanted. After generating all the shots, I used DaVinci Resolve to edit my short film; this is not just putting a shot next to another. I chose the shots, or part of them, that helped me to tell the story. I say the most difficult part is to tell the AI how I wanted the cactus to act. Trying different prompts and different models. Some were great, others not so great. Most of the sound effects came with the generated videos. For the background music I downloaded from mixkit.co

I created a new YouTube channel specifically for animation created with AI.

If you enjoyed watching this film, please share it.
